Now, hearing this news for Fernando Tatis Jr. and the San Diego Padres is exciting but will not in any way, shape, or form make Tatis Jr.'s return come faster. However, this means that El Niño will be ready to go for Spring Training. It will be very nice to see some at-bats taken, even at a slow and steady pace. Questions still arise on where El Niño will play on the field in 2023 and beyond, but that is for the Padres to figure out along the way.
Fernando Tatis Jr. missed all the 2022 season despite the Padres making an amazing NLCS run. Tatis Jr. went through not only two surgeries on his shoulder and wrist, but is still serving his 80-game suspension after testing positive for Clostebol. The league announced the controversial suspension on August 12th in which Tatis Jr. can make his earliest return on April 20th in a series against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Padres were fighting every game throughout this past year and were awaiting El Niño's return until the PED suspension shocked the baseball community and the Friar Faithful.
We should be confident to say that Fernando is eager to come back and help his team and the city win its first ever championship with the direction it is heading in. We know how bad Tatis Jr. wants to be a part of that, and this team is ready for his presence yet again. Newly acquired Juan Soto stated back in December that Tatis Jr. will be accepted with open arms despite any potential controversy. Soto stated, “We're going to welcome Tatis with open arms when he returns." I can guarantee Friar Faithful will accept the return of Bebo as well. I know I already have before he even has to take a step on the field.
With a mature World Series champion in Juan Soto, a team leader in Manny Machado and a very competent manager in Bob Melvin, we can relax and understand that Fernando Tatis Jr. will be learning under great people.

In the end, we all make mistakes and are careless; especially when we are young. Fernando Tatis Jr. loves the game of baseball and misses being in the spotlight. No matter if he is hated or not, Tatis Jr. is ready to help achieve the Padres' desire: A World Series trophy to San Diego.
