What Would a Rotation with Trevor Bauer Look Like?

In my latest episode on this topic, I understand it has a lot of heads spinning. But upon mixed reviews, having Trevor Bauer included in a thin rotation would benefit the San Diego Padres.

Trading a 4x Silver Slugger award winner in Juan Soto was never an easy pill to swallow for us Friar Faithful. But ultimately, the Padres knew they were not keeping Soto long-term, and needed to trade him with his value higher than what it would have been during the 2024 Trade Deadline.

Overall, I do believe the Padres will win this trade. They grabbed necessary assets that will help contribute this year and beyond. The Padres went into this trade needing multiple holes filled and patched them up pretty well to start.

Adding catching depth with a well respected veteran in Kyle Higashioka. Grabbing to the rotation with players such as Jhony Brito and Randy Vasquez. In addition of course comes to big names in Michael King who has been known to have nasty stuff. Alongside with prospect Drew Thorpe who has a lethal pitch mix and might I add, won MiLB pitcher of the year.

Going into this trade, the Padres starting rotation currently is projected when healthy to be: Joe Musgrove, Yu Darvish, Michael King, Pedro Avila and Randy Vasquez.

I underlined those two words for a reason as both Musgrove and Darvish were plagued with injuries last season. Now with Blake Snell most likely gone via free agency, the Padres have to either cross their fingers to have no major injuries or for all these players to put up respectable numbers.

Some prospects such as Jairo Iriarte could see his Major League debut come in 2024, but the top-caliber pitchers probably will not until at least 2025.

If Trevor Bauer is willing to take a league minimum deal to go out and pitch for any club, the Padres should look into this. I explain heavily as to why in my latest YouTube video. (Link below)

San Diego needs to understand that the issues are now settled and in the past for Bauer, who is just wanting to put his talent and love for the game on display once again.

If the Padres signed Bauer, the rotation would help build a stronger three once again to fill in the loss of Snell.

Imagine Musgrove, Darvish and Bauer as your top three in no particular order.

This would be a win-win situation for both the Padres, who are looking to keep their payroll low... and for Bauer who wants to pitch again in the MLB and has proved himself.

I do encourage you to check out the latest video or wherever you listen to my show. It explains the reasoning as to why the Padres should make a move on Bauer compared to other pitchers out on the market.
